Some things we know

The main reason why they went with a huge long nose truck for Optimus was that Bay did a test with flat noses (trucks) for scale purposes, and they would only be about 20 to 25 feet tall, so they went with the biggest truck they could find: the Peterbilt. We're talking about a 40 to 50 foot tall robot here.
The physics for Op are designed to have no magically disappearing parts. In fact, when the all the characters transform in the movie, they keep their body mass, meaning no shrinkage.

Also, Optimus is going to have much more red than what was shown in the "leaked" photo.

A couple of girls walk around with green tipped 25 ft. sticks representing where transformed robots were standing so the cast know where to look.

Hasbro had final say on all the character designs.

No humans get killed in the film, and there’s no blood.

There IS a love story in the movie.

The original idea was to do a G.I. Joe movie... but then the US invaded Iraq and they scrapped the idea. Hasbro then approached with the Transformers idea.

Soundwave was in the first few concepts, but they realized he just didn't fit the story. If there is a sequel, Soundwave will DEFINITELY be in it.

Michael Bay’s T-Shirt has Autobot symbol on the back... and on the front are the words "GIANT FUCKING ROBOTS ARE COMING".

Don Murphy (one of the many producers) said "We'd be crazy not to get Frank Welker (The original voice of Megatron) back for this". But the decision wasn't his.
